SMALL MAGNOLIAS THAT MATURE ONLY 10 to 15 FEET TALL and 5 FEET WIDE Both varieties bloom early spring and often rebloom in summer.

These Hydrangeas are all happy planted in full sun to part shade. Blooms begin white or pale lime, transforming into creams, pinks, then burgundy from summer through fall when they can be left on the tree for winter interest, or used in wreaths or dried flower arrangements. They are easy to grow, extremely durable and long-lived, filling the landscape with sweetly scented and eye catching multi-colored flowers. These are planted in 2 or 3 gallon grow bags and trained & pruned-see the photo of Limelight..

Phil's Mom, Mary, has this small graceful tree planted by her front entry. Right now it looks like a waterfall of flowers! Plus the flowers are an early nectar source for our local pollinators. The small tree is grafted to stay about 8 to 12 feet tall, so it fits perfectly on a deck, patio, entry, or small yard. It also grows well in a container. In the fall, you'll see colors of gold, orange, and red in the foliage.

VARIEGATED TULIP TREE

Now about 5 to 6 feet tall
This tree is named for its unique delicately shaped variegated color leaves - soft lime and cream edges with splashes of dark green centers. In June it has light lime colored tulip-shape flowers. In fall the foliage is brilliant yellow. The tree is fast growing, getting about 30 feet tall. It will grow in part-shade, but the best flowering is in full sun. Variegated Tulip Tree attracts pollinators and is a host for butterflies - it is an excellent choice for a naturalized garden.
