Rufa (Green Panda) non-invasive bamboo is an ideal height for creating a fence-height privacy screen. Green Panda sends up new culms that leaf out in early summer. These emerging shoots form tightly around the original base every season, maturing into a graceful semi fountain-like form. Green Panda is tolerant of both sun and shade - it is one of the most hardy and versatile clumping bamboos. A row makes an attractive living partition. Fargesia dracocephala 'Rufa' - (Sale prices limited to our current supply, and we have good availability at present).
.We carry clumping bamboo that becomes a "living fence" - a fantastic privacy hedge! This is a variety of bamboo that you can plant directly in the ground as it is non-invasive. (Photo taken on January 25, 2026 of Rufa growing at the nursery)

Calocedrus decurrens USDA Zones 5–8
