Growing 5 to 7 feet tall, this Nandina is taller than many types. A row creates a graceful year-round hedge, perfect for a border, privacy, or for hiding an unsightly fence. Nandina’s white spring flowers become bright red decorative berries in summer. The foliage turns fiery red/purple in the fall and winter. Umpqua Chief Nandina is reported to be ‘highly deer and rabbit resistant.’ The low-maintenance bush grows well in about all soil types and once established it is drought tolerant, providing excellent screening throughout the year.
