Rufa (Green Panda) non-invasive bamboo is an ideal height for creating a fence-height privacy screen. Green Panda sends up new culms that leaf out in early summer. These emerging shoots form tightly around the original base every season, maturing into a graceful semi fountain-like form. Green Panda is tolerant of both sun and shade - it is one of the most hardy and versatile clumping bamboos. A row makes an attractive living partition. Plant Robusta bamboo directly in the ground for an outstanding deer-resistant privacy screen that grows taller and more upright than many varieties. It has large graceful deep-green glossy leaves and light green emerging shoots. These develop into golden culms, creating attractive color variations among the canes. Scabrida makes a thick privacy screen that blocks even tall unwanted outlooks. Canes emerge as green shoots, gradually aging with soft burgundy hues. As the old and new canes mix, variations in color create a dramatic contrast. Slender emerald-green leaves make a graceful sound in gentle breezes and give this bamboo a tropical look. Scabrida Bamboo is sun tolerant.
