Want a "Living Fence" that will hide a view you despise? Clumping Bamboo may be your very best solution!

Clumping bamboo grows from a rhizome that develops new canes tightly only around its original base.

You may plant it directly into the ground and be assured that it is non-invasive – it stays true to its name.

FARGESIA SCABRIDA - Special $75 (Reg. $85) Now 6 to 7 feet tall, planted in 5 gallon pots.  Average mature height 12 to 15 feet, with cane diameter ½ -¾ inch USDA Zones 6–9 Hardy to 0˚F

Scabrida may be the most visually appealing non-invasive bamboo for exceptional screening.  The canes begin green, gradually maturing golden & soft burgundy.  This blend of restful cane coloration makes Scabrida an especially attractive addition to any yard.  In our climate it is good in full sun, but it also will grow under trees or in low sunlight where other varieties might not thrive.  With tightly clumped canes, Scabrida evergreen bamboo makes an outstanding year-round “living fence” for privacy.

FARGESIA RUFA “Green Panda” $35 planted in 2 or 3 gallon pots, $50 for 5 gallon pots, Now 1½ to 4½ feet tall,   Average mature height is 6 to 8 feet with a cane diameter ½ inch - USDA Zones 5-9 Hardy to -10˚F

Rufa (Green Panda) non-invasive bamboo is an ideal height for creating a fence-height privacy screen. Green Panda sends up new culms that leaf out in early summer. These emerging shoots form tightly around the original base every season, maturing into a graceful semi fountain-like form. Green Panda is tolerant of both sun and shade - it is one of the most hardy and versatile clumping bamboos.  A row makes an attractive living partition.  Fargesia dracocephala 'Rufa'

FARGESIA ROBUSTA  Special Price $75  (Reg. $85) Now 5- 6 feet tall, planted in 5 gallon pots. Average of 12 to 15 feet tall at maturity with a cane diameter ¾ inch - USDA Zones 7-9

Plant Robusta bamboo directly in the ground for an outstanding deer-resistant privacy screen that grows taller and more upright than many varieties. It has large graceful deep-green glossy leaves and light green emerging shoots. These develop into golden culms, creating attractive color variations among the canes. Robusta Bamboo is named for its robustness – it is drought and sun tolerant but also will grow well in shade. Fargesia 'Robusta'

FARGESIA ROBUSTA WOLONG - Special price this month $50 They vary 3 to 5 feet tall, planted in 5 gallon pots  Average mature height is 12 to 14 feet with a cane diameter ½ to ¾ inch USDA Zones 6-9 Hardy to 0˚F

Wolong’s extra-large shiny dark green leaves give it an exotic appearance.  It maintains a narrower profile than other clumping bamboo – excellent for limited space.  Wolong is more sun tolerant than other varieties, but in hot climates protect it from the harsh direct summer afternoon sun.  Wolong will also grow and mature even in full shade, thus is adaptable to many locations in a landscape.  Fargesia robusta 'Wolong' - Very limited availability of Wolong at present.
