REDBUD TREES - These varieties are considered "improved versions" of Eastern Redbuds

LAVENDER TWIST $40 Now between 3½  & 4½ feet tall, planted in 2 or 3 gallon pots

Petite lavender/pink tinted flowers for 3 to 4 weeks in spring are on this popular weeping cultivar.  Heart shaped leaves turn vibrant yellow in the fall, and the twirling branches add interest against the winter landscape.  Lavender Twist is decorative, and an ideal size for a courtyard, entry, or small yard, where it is sure to be a focal point all year.  It grows up to 2 feet per year, staying between 6 and 15 feet, depending on planting conditions - an easy-to-maintain tree that grows in full sun to part shade.  Lavender Twist Redbud is excellent for growing in containers.  Cercis canadensis “Covey”  USDA Zones 5-9

 

PINK HEARTBREAKER $50 - Now 4 to 5 feet tall, planted in 5 gallon pots

This Redbud variety is unique because it has such a whimsical shape.  Its informal look is enhanced by branches with naturally floating tendrils.  In spring they also have small lavender-pink blossoms The pretty heart-shaped foliage emerges multi-hued before turning green.  Pink Heartbreaker Redbud grows about 10 to 15 feet tall (less in a container) making it an excellent size for a patio, entry, small city yard, or narrow planting space.  It is low-maintenance and ,when mature, drought tolerant.  Cercis canadensis ‘Pink Heartbreaker’ USDA Zones 5-9
