Because of their age and size, these trees usually will fruit 2 to 3 years after planting (depending on where they are planted and how well they are tended & watered.) Some even fruit while they are for sale in the nursery!

ITALIAN PLUM/PRUNE tastes great freshly picked, with a mild, yet snappy flavor that has a slight citrus tang.  The firm flesh makes it outstanding to can, freeze, or to dry for healthy snacks.  The fruit also stores extremely well. The cold-hardy tree blooms late so it can avoid spring frosts.  Italian Plum is everbearing, which means the fruit ripens continually throughout August to Autumn.  Italian Plum/Prune is self-fertile.  Prunus domestica ‘Italian prune’    USDA Zones 4 – 9
