TRADITIONAL MAPLES: Crimson Sentry (burgundy foliage)
JAPANESE MAPLES: Bloodgood, Weeping Red Laceleaf, Viridis Dwarf Laceleaf
Our other tall traditional Maple trees will not be available for sale until Fall of 2026 - usually they are only $75.
Photos were taken in late summer 2025 of varieties that were available at that time.

CRIMSON SENTRY / CRIMSON RED - now 5½ - 6 feet tall in 3 gallon pot $40 OR 9 -10 feet in 5 gallon pot $75
Summer foliage of this maple is deep purple to burgundy or deep crimson, depending on planting conditions. (Full sun will enhance the leaf colors.) Crimson Sentry is an excellent choice to border a path, driveway, or roadway because it grows less than 25 feet tall and stays fairly narrow. A mature Crimson Sentry is wind resistant and drought tolerant. It is a suitable variety for coastal areas as it has tolerance for salt spray. In spring, the branches have small yellow blossoms before the leaves emerge. In fall the burgundy foliage turns bronze and crimson. Developed in 1972 - nearby in Hubbard Oregon - this maple is well suited to our climate & city size yards. Acer platanoides ‘Crimson Sentry’ (also tagged ‘Crimson Red’) USDA Zones 4-9
BRANDYWINE $35 OR $50 dependent on pot size - now about 7 feet tall - 2 of each size left.
Graceful red flowers in spring, glossy green foliage becomes red/purples in the fall. A seedless maple, no helicopter whirlybirds. Oval shaped tree, growing about 30 feet tall in full sun to part shade. Acer rubrum “Brandywine’ USDA Zones 4-8
BLOODGOOD - about 4½ feet tall now, planted in 2 & 3 gallon pots $40
This award winning maple has a non-invasive root system so it is ideal for small city yards and curbside strips. It can be planted closer to structures than other maples; it also grows well in containers for a deck, entry, or patio. In spring it has little purple flowers, then red leaves emerge, aging to deep burgundy (depending on the amount of sunshine it receives.) In winter the deep reddish-black bark adds interest and texture. Bloodgood is easy-care and one of the hardiest varieties of Japanese Maple, maturing at approximately 15 feet tall. Acer palmatulm 'Bloodgood' USDA Zones 5 -8
VIRIDIS WEEPING DWARF LACELEAF - about 2½ feet tall now, planted in 1 gallon pots $20
Delicate cascading branches with lace-like green leaves that turn golden and crimson in fall. Growing slowly, it matures between 6 - 8 feet tall and wide. Viridis has been known to flourish for more than 60 years with very little care. It prefers filtered sun or part sun/part shade, and is deer and rabbit resistant. Good for bonsai, but as a full size tree it grows well in containers and is ideal for entries, decks, or courtyards. Acer palmatum var. dissectum “Viridis’ USDA Zones 5-8
TAMUKEYAMA WEEPING RED LACELEAF - Small in 1 gallon pot $20 OR 3 gallon pot, about 3 - 3½ feet tall now $40
This graceful Japanese Maple has dark burgundy colored leaves on cascading branches. It matures at 6 to 10 feet tall & wide. Drought and heat tolerant, deer resistant, Red Laceleaf can handle full sun or part-shade. It is often used for bonsai. Red Laceleaf is a stunning focal point for a patio, deck, or entryway. Acer palmatum ‘Tamukeyama’ USDA Zones 5-9
