HONEYCRISP is recognized as one of the sweetest apples. It has an appetizing crunch and a unique clear, clean flavor. Delicious when eaten fresh, Honeycrisp has an excellent storage life so all winter you may use them in cobblers, pies, jams, applesauce, or cider. Honeycrisp apple trees grow well in small spaces, plant them in full sun. The fruit usually ripens September through October, depending on planting conditions and the year’s weather. Honeycrisp requires another variety of apple tree for cross pollination. We have Pink Lady, which is an ideal variety to pollinate with Honeycrisp. (Any combo apple tree will also be good.) Malus domestic ‘Honeycrisp’ USDA Zones 3 – 8
PINK LADY is considered a “Premium Apple” for its pure white interior which resists browning when cut – making it a favorite for snacking, lunchboxes, and picnics. Apples are crisp and refreshing with a balanced sweet/tangy classic apple flavor. Delicious fresh, they are also a preferred choice for cooking and baking. Pink Lady apples keep well, with a long shelf-life. They usually ripen October to December, depending on planting conditions and the year’s weather. Pink Lady needs a pollinator, and Honeycrisp is ideal - having both varieties will extend your apple harvesting season. Malus domestica ‘Cripps Pink’ USDA Zones 5 – 9
COMBO APPLE TREES are self-pollinating because they have 4 different, compatible varieties grafted onto them. Choices on branches include:
HONEY CRISP red/pink/yellow,subtle sweet/tangy blend GALA yellow/red blush, mild, sweet, crisp AMBROSIA red/orange blush, sweet honeyed flavor PINK LADY pink blush, refreshingly crisp, resists browning when cut YELLOW DELICIOUS golden, mild with softer texture FUJI light red/yellow blush, crisp, juicy, sweet
